Guadeloupe offer visitors beautiful beaches and marvelous stretches of sand to laze on. This island is part of the France and is really two islands connected by a narrow channel. These two islands are called Grand-Terre and Basse- Terre. Guadeloupe has plenty of activities to engage in from rain forests to waterfalls. You will also find some very kind and warm locals.

This island has plenty of activities to engage in especially if you’re having a family vacation. Your kids will love all the outdoor activities they could engage in including visits to the adventure park and their most secret rivers of their national park. While in this charming island, don’t miss out on the Jacques Cousteaus Underwater Reserve, Blue Lagoon and Zoological & Botanical Park.

Shopping in Guadeloupe

Guadeloupe offers a variety of desirable French products, from luxury products for women to French china and liqueurs.  If you’re a craft lover, you can find attractive wood carvings, madras table linens, island dolls dressed in madras, woven straw baskets and hats at Cantre Artisanat, La Gall and Madras Bijoux shops. The most popular Guadeloupian souvenir is rum. Be aware that the only liquor bottles allowed on planes have to be bought in the duty-free shops at the airport.

Tip: ATM’s are available in every town. US Dollars are accepted but change might be given in Euros.

Thinking about learning a little creole? It is best to spend time places where locals eat, drink and laugh together. These are the places where you get the best tasting Guadeloupian food. You will also get to know more about their culture when you relax and try their traditional Ti Punch which is known o be a great drink.
